Where the server lives

Formbricks in Rio de Janeiro

With Rio de Janeiro selected, your VPS with Formbricks runs in Mega's original data center, on our own network with a presence at the Rio internet exchange (IX.br) and redundant transit. It is the lowest latency for users in Rio, Espírito Santo and Minas Gerais, and our support team works in the same city as the server.

What is Formbricks

Formbricks is open source software for measuring the experience of customers, users and teams. You build a survey from a template, such as NPS, CSAT or customer effort score, or start from scratch, and share it with a link.

Each question can have conditional logic, translation into other languages, free text, ratings, multiple choice or file upload. Responses appear in a dashboard with charts and can be forwarded by webhook to n8n and other tools.

In the Mega installation, it comes with file storage inside the VPS itself. Question images and respondent attachments stay on your disk, with no paid external service.

Which plan to choose for Formbricks

Basic works when Formbricks is the only app on the server, since it uses about 1 GB at idle and we reserve 1536 MB as a safety margin. Plus is the recommended plan, thanks to its extra memory headroom.

PlanBest for
Basic
2 vCore · 2 GB
For those who will run only Formbricks on the server, with the minimum memory headroom required.
Plus
2 vCore · 4 GB
The recommended plan: it gives Formbricks memory headroom and room for surveys with more responses, without straining the server.
Pro
4 vCore · 6 GB
For those who share the server with other apps besides Formbricks and want more processing power, with 4 vCores.
Turbo
4 vCore · 12 GB
For heavier use: Formbricks alongside several other apps, many responses and plenty of disk space.
Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about Formbricks hosting

How much does Formbricks hosting cost?

The software is free and open source. You only pay for the VPS, which starts at per month on the Start plan, and there is no limit on responses per survey.

How much RAM does self-hosted Formbricks need?

At idle it uses about 1 GB across all its services, and we reserve 1536 MB of free memory for it. That is why the Start plan, with 1 GB of RAM, suits moderate use when the app runs alone.

Can I get a VPS with Formbricks in Brazil?

Yes. Mega servers are in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, Brazil, and you choose the location when you order. Formbricks arrives ready, with an HTTPS address and an admin account created.

Does Formbricks work without an email server?

Surveys and response collection work normally. Without a configured SMTP server, team invitations and password recovery are unavailable until you add your own.

Can I receive files and images in survey responses?

Yes. The VPS comes with its own file storage, and whatever respondents upload is saved on your server's disk.

Does self-hosted Formbricks include AI survey creation?

Not in this installation. That feature is paid in Formbricks and comes turned off, but the ready-made templates cover the most common formats, such as NPS and CSAT.

Who updates Formbricks on my VPS?

The delivered version is fixed, so no change appears without notice. You update whenever you want through root access, preferably after testing.

Can I use the same VPS for other apps, and how does support work?

Yes, as long as the memory fits all of them, and each app gets its own address. 24/7 support in Portuguese, by WhatsApp, ticket and phone, covers the server side. Formbricks usage follows the project's documentation.
