Colocation in Brazil: your server in our data center

Rack space for your own hardware, with redundant power, cooling, a 1 Gbps port, IPv4 and IPv6, and DDoS protection. You bring the machine; we take care of everything around it, 24 hours a day, in Rio de Janeiro or São Paulo. Call it colocation, housing or data center rental: it is the same service, with the uptime of a real data center and a team that has specialized in colocation since 2016.

From 1U to a full rack

1U and 2U come with power, a full 1 Gbps port, IPs and DDoS protection. Pricing and location (Rio de Janeiro or São Paulo) are agreed with our team, and together we pick the best spot for your hardware. For more devices, power draw above 500 W or a closed rack, send us the list of what will go in and we reply with a quote the same day.

1U and 2U have a fixed configuration; half racks and full racks are quoted by number of devices, power draw and bandwidth. Pricing is agreed with our team.

Half rack (20U)

For customers with several servers, storage and their own switch. Power sized to measured draw, a 1 or 10 Gbps port, an IP block and 2 hours of remote hands per month included. Request a quote.

Full rack (42U)

A locked rack, two dedicated power circuits, redundant uplinks, physical access for your team only and 4 hours of remote hands per month included. Request a quote.

Transit and peering

Dedicated bandwidth above 100 Mbps, a 10 Gbps port, a BGP session with your ASN and announcement of your prefixes. Also by quote.

What surrounds your server

Power, cooling, network and people, 24 hours

Redundant power

Two circuits per device, UPS systems and a generator. Each power supply in your server plugs into a different PDU, so electrical maintenance never takes anything down.

Our own network at the PTTs

Presence at PTT Rio and PTT São Paulo, transit from more than one carrier and short routes to Brazilian networks. A full 1 Gbps port as standard, no data cap; 10 Gbps by quote.

DDoS protection included

Your hardware sits behind the same inline mitigation that protects our own servers. Volumetric attacks are filtered before they reach your port.

Remote hands

Reboot, swap a cable, plug in a monitor and keyboard, mount a USB drive: the team at the data center does it for you, at any hour, through a ticket. Billed by the hour; half racks include 2 hours per month and full racks 4 hours, with no rollover.

Controlled physical access

Scheduled visits, ID check at reception, cameras and an entry log. Only the people you authorize get to your rack.

Cooling and raised floor

Controlled temperature and humidity with hot and cold aisles, designed so your hardware can run for years without stopping.

Where your rack sits

Two data centers, two locations

In Rio de Janeiro, colocation sits in our original facility, where the on-call team and the spare parts stock are. In São Paulo, it sits in the data center where we keep our second point of presence, next to the busiest PTT in Brazil. The location is set when we agree on the quote, and we pick the best spot for your hardware.

Rio de Janeiro

For companies and ISPs in Rio, Espírito Santo and Minas Gerais, and for anyone who wants to visit their hardware in person. The lowest latency to the Southeast outside São Paulo.

São Paulo

For customers who serve all of Brazil or need interconnection with carriers, banks and public clouds present in São Paulo. The same options from 1U to a full rack, quoted in the proposal.

How it works

From quote to a powered-on server

1. Equipment list

You tell us the model, height in U, number of power supplies and power draw. With that we settle space, power and bandwidth and send you a quote.

2. Shipping or visit

Ship the server by courier or schedule a visit to install it in person. We check the equipment on arrival and log everything.

3. Installation and activation

We mount it in the rack, connect power and network, deliver IPs and console access, and let you know when it is online. From then on, monitoring is on us and remote hands is available through a ticket.

Prefer that the machine is ours?

If you would rather not buy and ship hardware, we rent you a ready machine in the same rack with the same support.

Frequently asked questions

Before you order colocation

What is colocation?

Colocation (also called housing or data center rental) is renting space in a data center to install hardware that you own. The data center provides the rack, redundant power, cooling, internet connectivity and physical security; you remain the owner and administrator of the server.

How much does data center space cost?

It depends on the space (1U, 2U, half rack or full rack), the location, the power draw and the bandwidth. 1U and 2U already include power, a full 1 Gbps port, IPv4, IPv6 and DDoS protection. Our team sends you the pricing within minutes on WhatsApp. Billing is monthly in US dollars, and you can pay by PayPal, credit card or crypto (USDT).

Is remote hands billed separately?

Yes, by the hour and on demand, for reboots, cable swaps, console access and small interventions. Half racks include 2 hours per month and full racks include 4 hours per month, with no rollover from one month to the next.

What kind of equipment can I install?

Standard 19" rack servers from 1U to 4U, storage arrays, switches and routers. Tower or non-standard equipment is assessed case by case. Each device needs redundant power supplies to use both circuits.

Can I visit the data center to work on my server?

Yes, by appointment. Your visit is logged at reception and you are escorted to the rack. For quick tasks (reboot, cable swap, console access), remote hands handles it without you having to travel, billed by the hour.

Do you manage the operating system?

No. With colocation, server administration is yours. Mega is responsible for power, cooling, network and physical security; remote hands is an hourly service. If you need a machine managed by us, look at our dedicated server in Brazil.

Can I use my own IP block and ASN?

Yes. We set up a BGP session with your ASN and announce your prefixes through our network at both PTTs. We can also provide our own IPs if you prefer.

Is there a minimum contract?

Colocation is monthly and prepaid, with no lock-in. You can pay by PayPal, credit card or crypto (USDT). For a full rack with dedicated power, we agree on the term in the quote.

Want a colocation quote?

Send the list of your devices (model, height in U, power supplies and power draw). In the quote we choose the location together, Rio de Janeiro or São Paulo, and reply within one business day.
